Compensation & Payment Structure

All current positions at The Youth Meets Moguls Incorporated are contract-based. Team members are hired as independent contractors and paid via a 1099 tax form. As a contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes and benefits.

✨ Coming Soon: We plan to open W-2 employee positions with benefits starting next year as the organization grows.

1. Community DJ & Teen Outreach Specialist

 

Role Overview:
Bring music, mentorship, and positive energy to teens through hands-on DJ workshops, community events, and festival performances. You'll represent the organization in public, speak about our mission, and build direct relationships with youth and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead beginner/intermediate DJ workshops (equipment setup, mixing, DJ software)

  • Perform and facilitate at community events, school programs, and local festivals

  • Speak to youth and families about programs and opportunities

  • Represent the organization at public events and on social media

  • Support event logistics, safety, and community outreach efforts

  • Assist with fundraising and visibility campaigns

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience DJing in youth/community settings

  • Friendly, engaging communicator with confidence speaking to groups

  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible working around youth

  • Knowledge of DJ tools and gear (Serato, Numark, Rekordbox, etc.)

  • Willingness to travel to events and festivals

  • Must obtain a valid DJ license (support available if needed)

  • Background check required

Skills to Highlight:

  • DJ software and controller use

  • Public speaking and storytelling

  • Basic event planning and risk awareness

  • Social media promotion (photos, clips, reels — with consent)

2. Music Producer – Teens & Community Projects

 

Role Overview:
Design and lead hands-on music production experiences that empower youth to tell their stories. From beat-making workshops to audio for promotional media, this role blends creativity, mentorship, and community building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run beginner/intermediate production workshops (DAWs, beat-making, mixing)

  • Develop youth-friendly project briefs, sample packs, and templates

  • Record, produce, and edit tracks for events, videos, and youth showcases

  • Support artist mentorship and studio session guidance

  • Collaborate with staff on festivals, showcases, and audio media projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in one or more DAWs (FL Studio, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience teaching or mentoring teens

  • Recording and mixing experience (mic setup, vocal tracking, etc.)

  • Available for after-school/weekend sessions and events

  • Portfolio or sample reel (beats, tracks, or teaching examples)

  • Background check required

Skills to Highlight:

  • Audio editing and mixing fundamentals

  • Songwriting, arrangement, and music theory basics

  • Creative curriculum planning

  • Youth leadership and peer mentorship

4. Youth Events Coordinator

 

Role Overview:
Design unforgettable youth experiences through creative, well-organized events. You’ll manage logistics while keeping the energy and purpose aligned with our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead events, workshops, and youth showcases

  • Handle logistics: venues, permits, vendor coordination, budgets

  • Partner with youth artists, schools, and community groups

  • Promote events through flyers, social media, and outreach

  • Support post-event evaluation and reporting

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong background in event coordination or youth programming

  • Experience managing volunteers and youth teams

  • Budget tracking and logistical planning

Skills to Highlight:

5. Audio Engineer – Youth & Community Projects

 

Role Overview:
Capture the sound of the next generation. As Audio Engineer, you’ll support recording and sound reinforcement for youth-led music and media projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record, mix, and master audio for youth performances and content

  • Set up and monitor sound systems for live events and studio sessions

  • Maintain audio gear and troubleshoot issues

  • Mentor interested teens in audio basics

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in Audio Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Experience with live sound and studio setups

  • Working knowledge of audio software (Pro Tools, Logic, etc.)

  • Portfolio or demo reel required

Skills to Highlight:

  • Studio mic placement and mixing

  • Live sound reinforcement

  • Gear troubleshooting and maintenance

  • Coaching/mentoring youth in a creative space

6. Songwriter / Composer – Youth & Community Services

Role Overview:
Help young people turn their stories into sound. Collaborate on original music that reflects youth voices and community themes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and arrange original songs with youth and staff

  • Lead songwriting workshops and jam sessions

  • Produce music aligned with program campaigns or events

  • Support studio production and live performance prep

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven songwriting and composition experience (portfolio/demo)

  • Comfort working across multiple genres (hip-hop, R&B, pop, spoken word)

  • Experience leading creative sessions with youth

Skills to Highlight:

  • Lyric writing and melody creation

  • Workshop facilitation

  • Collaborative project planning

  • Understanding of song structure and storytelling
