Kids and teens who come from underprivileged backgrounds often face many difficult challenges early in life. Because of these hardships, these young adults are more likely to experience serious issues such as violence, including homicide, and mental health struggles like depression and suicidal thoughts. They may also face neglect and abuse from their families or communities.
